🔎Curiosities: In ancient Rome, "Lunati" meant half-moon. Romans wore different types of shoes depending on the occasion: at home, they would wear sandals which they used to call “Soleae”. In the street, they would wear shoes called “Calcei” rather similar to those we wear today, which had leather laces that tied up the ankle. The "Calcei Lunati" were a variant of the latter, and generally worn by the Patricians. They were called this way, because this type of shoes had an ivory half moon decorating the front of them which possibly functioned as a buckle.
This hookah bowl is painted with a soap bubbles technique which has been handed down over the centuries by italian terracotta Craftsmen.
